Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 121:1-8. Jesus is closer than a brother and carries us throughout our life as we ask Him to do. He protects us from the heat with shade and carries us so that we don’t harm our feet.
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.”
God never gets weary watching over you.
Often I and I am sure that you have clasped our faces in despair. I have cried out heavenward, wondering where I would see my salvation come from. I have wondered what the purpose was for my creation and why I had not seen God’s intervention in my life and situation.
Scripture gives me hope which breeds a joy stronger than any depression that may look over me. God, our Father, and creator is watching over us. He is not just glancing over every now and then, but He is intently watching the timeline of our lives, anticipating every tiny detail, like what shoes we will wear on a cold spring morning!
In the same way that God provides for my every need, He holds the natural equilibrium in place. Our Father holds it all within His hands and is protecting us from every angle. Let us step back from the ledge that we place before our decisions, and rest in God and His provision! Since God is watching over you and I, we are safe and need not fear any circumstance.
Let’s Pray
Dear Father,
In Jesus Name,
Amen
