How to Get Rid of Dark Circles

Ever heard of the expression ‘eyes are the windows to your soul’? What if they’re clouded with dark circles? What do they represent in that case? With an overwhelming workload, it is pretty easy to lose a good night’s sleep and get stressed. Those are the two main factors that lead to under eye dark circles. And with so much emphasis given on beauty these days, it’s pretty easy to fall prey to insecurities. If you find yourself worrying about those dark shadows under your eyes then fear no more! Read on as I highlight some surefire ways to get rid of dark circles.

  1. Almond oil

Almond oil is a natural way of treating your dark circles. Instead of using expensive and harsh products you can use almond oil. Almond oil is almost as well known for its lightening properties as it is for its moisturizing properties. It’s so lightweight that it penetrates deep into the skin and heals from within. As the skin around the eye is very fragile almond oil is perfect for it.

  1. Brightening gel

To make a brightening gel for dark circles you need three essential ingredients.

  1. Licorice extract
  2. Vitamin K
  3. Aloe gel

Take your vitamin K capsule and squeeze out three tiny drops into a container, next take your licorice extract and drop in two drops and mix it up really well. Lastly, take your aloe gel and squeeze out a tiny dollop into the container. When you mix it up it shouldn’t have a too oily or too sticky consistency. It should go on smooth and disappear into your skin. Apply this gel every night before you sleep by using your ring finger. Licorice extract is an amazing skin whitening agent and it does wonders for the under eyes. Vitamin K strengthens the capillary walls and reduces the visibility of blood vessels through the skin under your eyes. Whereas aloe is extremely hydrating and helps heal the skin. So basically it’s really good for you.

  1. Teaspoon trick

Take two teaspoons and stick them in your freezer for 10 minutes. This is really good for you even after a hectic day to relieve stress. What you do is basically cup your eyes with the teaspoons. This will pretty much feel heavenly. Leave the spoons on your eyes for 5 – 10 minutes. This is also great for relieving any puffiness that you may have.

  1. Conceal

In the meantime conceal your dark circles by getting a concealer that has a warm undertone. If you have a cool undertone, use a salmon based concealer. If you have a warm undertone, use a yellow-based concealer. And if you’re neutral go for a concealer with a more neutral undertone.
