Our hands often reveal our age because as we get older they lose volume, which leads to thin skin and visible veins and tendons. Additionally, our hands are constantly exposed to the sun and we usually forget to put sunscreen on them daily. This results in brown spots and a leathery appearance.
There are a variety of treatments available to rejuvenate your hands, so they look just as youthful as your face!
First, look at your hands. Is the problem brown spots, loose, inelastic skin, enlarged veins, or loss of volume, or a combination of these? The best treatment option for you depends on the condition of your hands.
Brown spots are the easiest to remove. Several lasers or IPLs work well to get rid of brown spots and leave your skin looking even and smooth.
Loose skin can be tightened up and improved with a series of light, fractionated CO2 or Fraxel laser treatments.
To treat veins in your hands you can receive sclerotherapy injections to shrink the veins and then inject Juvederm or Restylane to plump the backs of the hands. Juvederm or Restylane can also be used alone with a nice result.
For an at home treatment, you can use anti-aging creams like a 10-15% glycolic or TNS Recovery at night.
To prevent future sun damage on your hands, you should wear sunscreen on your hands daily.
